St Patrick’s Day Recipes

St Patrick’s Day is nearly here, and in our house, that can only mean one thing… I’m cooking a proper St Patrick’s Day feast.

It’s a bit of a tradition around here now. Ever since the years The Irishman and I spent living in London, the 17th of March has been circled on the calendar. Back then, the celebrations were a little louder (and the pubs were definitely fuller). These days, we’re in country NSW, so the day looks a little different. But the food? The food is non-negotiable.

There will be potatoes. Obviously.
There will be something slow-cooked and hearty bubbling away in a Dutch oven.
And at some point, there’s usually a slightly frantic dash into town because I’ve forgotten to buy the Bulmers cider again. Honestly, it happens every year.

So this week, I’ve pulled together a handful of my favourite St Patrick’s Day recipes – the sort of Irish-inspired comfort food that suits a relaxed dinner at home. Think rich slow-cooked stews, buttery potato dishes, rustic breads, and a few sweet treats to round out the table.

If you’re planning your own St Patrick’s Day dinner this year, these recipes are a very good place to start.

Right then… let’s talk St Patrick’s Day recipes.
